| The
DotCom fever of the new millennium was
at it's peak. Like many other countless
sites mushrooming at that time, a group
of enthusiastic Nepali teenagers embarked
on a mission to start mYktm.com. The
people behind Myktm had a passion for
the internet and they had realized that
they could exploit it's full potential
not as individuals but rather as a community
with the common faith for "Freedom
Of Speech". mYktm was initially
launched with the sole purpose of offering
online chatting and later with the launch
of the first Nepali instant messenger,
aptly named : Nepal Messenger, the popularity
of the site was phenomenal and the number
of visitors exploded from a mere 100
or so visitors to more than 2,000 daily
visitors. Along the way, other features
were added to the site like the Forums,
Jokes and Articles section. Rather than
exaggerating about all the features
of the site, it's best to make a judgement
by experiencing it.
The
continuing development of Nepal Messenger
and the ever growing number of loyal
Myktm fanatics continue to add fuel
to one of the fastest growing online
communities in Nepali cyberspace.
mYktm.com has been featured in several
Nepali magazines and also was honored
as the "Best user friendly web
site" in the WWW 2003 web designing
competition organized by Wave Magazine
in association with Mercantile Communication
during the CAN INFO TECH.
Myktm
is a platform for today's youth to
exercise their freedom of expression,
creativity and rational thinking.
The people behind mYktm.com range
from the site webmaster and administrators
to all it's loyal visitors and accordingly
everyone deserve equal credit for
the success of this site.
