Why should I make mYktm Pals?

Because it is fun !! That is the main reason, but there are also some other reasons:

• You can improve your language skills. Especially English , but also other languages, it depends on the mother language of your penpal ofcourse.
• You can learn much about cultures and traditions from foreign countries.
• You can make new friends all over the world.

How do I get started?

Firstly, just click the ADD button above and add your profile so that others can contact you. You have the possibility to make a penpal ad yourself or you can just browse others' profile, either by clicking on SEARCH or by clicking on BROWSE to have a look at all the registered people out here. As soon as you've found someone you would like to make friends with, send him/her an email. In this email you tell a little bit about yourself and you ask the person, if he/she wants to be your friend, penpal. Then you just have to wait for an answer. There are many people who don't reply, which I think is very rude, but don't give up. Better luck next time. If you make add your profile, people will contact you, at least if your profile is interesting enough :-). You can also add a photo of yours. If you add a photo, you will have a much bigger chance of being contacted (at least if you are not the world's most ugly person, but you don't have to be a real beauty). People just like to know how other people look.

What do I write in the first letter?

After you've found a penpal and this person let's you know he/she is interested in writing, you have to write your first real letter/email. The first one is always the most difficult, because you don't know much about your new penpal yet. We would advice to just write about your interests, hobbies, the music you like, school, work, etc. And may be some things that have happened to you lately. Ask your penpal what his/her interests are, so you can talk about that in your next letter.

Some other hints and tips about mYktm Pals.

• Never forget you are dealing with real people.You may hurt them!!! So try to be polite and honest with them. If you keep on fooling around, you will loose all your penpals.
• Try to answer your penpals as fast as possible. And when you are very busy, send them a short email, to let them know you're very busy.
• Sometimes you don't know what to talk about, because nothing happened and everything is the same as last time.
  May be then you could talk about what you would like to do in the future, what your plans are, etc.
• Try to find a penpal that has similar interests as yourself .This way you will have more to talk about.
